For Suppliers — United States & Canada

We take the lots that are hard to place.

Mills, converters, printers and packers. Alongside standard ISRI grades we buy stock lots and off-grade material — the tonnage that sits in the warehouse because it does not fit a grade table.

01 — What we buy

All four of our product lines, bought as well as sold.

We are the export outlet, not a broker passing your material to another broker. If it ships to Asia, we place it ourselves.

01 — ISRI PS-2013

Waste Paper

OCC, DSOCC, SOP, SWL and mixed paper grades, baled and ready for container loading. Regular monthly tonnage and one-off accumulations both considered.

Baled · grade stated · container loads upward
02 — Virgin fibre

Prime & Surplus Pulp

Market pulp held long, cancelled orders, and positions a mill or converter needs to clear. Bales or units, named mill where known.

Named mill where known · unit or bale count
03 — As available

Stock Lot

Surplus reels, sheets and discontinued runs. Irregular sizes and mixed contents are not a problem — they are the norm for this line. Photographs are usually enough to start.

Mixed lots accepted · photographs to start
04 — Off specification

Off Grade

Moisture, shade, basis weight, wrapper damage, failed QC. Material a mill buyer has refused on specification frequently still has a home in Asia. Tell us what the defect is — we do not need it hidden.

Defect stated · priced against the prime grade

02 — Area & terms

Anywhere in the United States and Canada.

Material ships from the major port nearest to it, which is usually what makes a marginal lot workable.

Tell us the defect, not the best case.

An offer built on an optimistic description falls apart at the discharge port, and the claim comes back to you. We would rather quote a lower number on an accurate description and have the shipment close cleanly.

03 — Process

From first photograph to payment.

Most stock lot and off-grade offers are settled on photographs and a specification sheet. Inspection is arranged where the volume or the uncertainty warrants it.

04 — Before you write

What to send us.

These five turn an inquiry into a firm number, usually within the same week.

01

What the material is

ISRI grade, pulp grade, or a plain description for stock lots and off grade.

02

Quantity and packing

Weight in metric tons, and whether it is baled, palletised, in reels or loose.

03

Photographs

A few of the actual lot. For off grade, show the defect.

04

Location

City and state or province — this decides the loading port and the freight.

05

Timing

When it needs to move, and whether more is coming behind it.

06

Company details

Company name and the person handling the material.

Contact

Send us the specification and a photograph.

That is enough to tell you whether we are interested and roughly where the number lands. Offers from suppliers are handled by the same desk that sells the material in Asia.
